The Power of Remembrance, Part 2

Last week, I give you six things from the Word of God that we are to remember. Today, we look at six more things:

Honor Your Leaders: Remember pastors, parents, and other Christian leaders who have spoken God’s Word to you. Hebrews 13:7 advises us to “Remember them which have the rule over you…whose faith follow”.

Stand with the Persecuted: Let us remember the persecution of other Christians. Colossians 4:18 ends with “Remember my bonds”. Their courage in the face of suffering can inspire us to bolder service.

Recognize God’s Goodness: It’s crucial to remember the provision of the Lord. Don’t forget the times God has met your needs. Philippians 4:19 assures us, “My God shall supply all your need”.

Appreciate God’s Holiness: Give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness. Psalm 97:12 encourages us to “give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness”. His purity is the foundation of our salvation.

Trust in God’s Might: Never forget the Power of God. Deuteronomy 7:18 urges us to “well remember what the Lord thy God did”. Remember the “God factor” in your life, especially in difficult times.

Focus on Christ: Finally, we must remember the pre-eminence and person of Christ. Psalm 119:55 declares, “I have remembered thy name, O Lord”. Meditating on who He is and what He has done will keep us close to Him.

By intentionally remembering these vital truths, we can stay grounded in faith, find encouragement, and live lives that honor God.
